Autonomous robots are going to play a crucial role in the new era of AI driven manufacturing processes. Currently, robotic systems require a significant amount of human intervention, from program path generation to data interpretation, resulting in very inefficient and expensive integration in production cycles. This is a novel Autonomous Robotics system called "FRANK". It leverages state of the art artificial intelligence algorithms and cutting edge sensing technologies, bringing an industrial robot platform to a whole new automation level, with autonomous path generation, inspection strategies and part processing. FRANK's synthetic brain can be trained via a set of high quality images and exploited to fully automate a series of critical processes such as part assembly, machining and part inspection.
